Group praises Seyi Tinubu’s swift response to NANS president’s claims

The Lagos Youth Foundation for Transformation (LYFT) has applauded Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, for what it described as a timely response to recent allegations levelled against him by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Isah.

In a statement released on Friday, LYFT’s President, Showemimo Ahmed, hailed Tinubu’s decision to publicly refute the claims as “a commendable act of accountability and personal integrity,” especially at a time when misinformation continues to shape much of Nigeria’s public discourse.

The group noted that Tinubu had consistently exhibited restraint in the face of frequent online criticism and controversies. However, LYFT said that his decision to respond in this instance was both necessary and appropriate given the seriousness of the accusations.

“His decision to directly address these malicious claims demonstrates his maturity and the strength of character that has long defined his public conduct,” the group stated. “Seyi Tinubu’s words reflect a young Nigerian who, despite unwarranted provocation, remains committed to truth and civility.”

Comrade Isah had alleged during a press conference in Abuja that he was offered a N100 million bribe by Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, in exchange for promoting President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He also claimed that after rejecting the alleged offer, he was assaulted and abducted by unidentified individuals in Lagos.

In a post shared via Instagram on Friday, President Tinubu’s son described the allegations as entirely false and an attempt to smear his character.

LYFT, while reaffirming its belief in the power of dialogue and accountability, called for responsible conduct among youth leaders. It cautioned that personal grievances should not be weaponised to propagate falsehoods or weaken public trust in institutions.
