Group proffers solution to moral decadence among youths
As part of efforts to tackle the problem of moral decadence in the society, a non-governmental organisation, Family Values Development Initiative (FVDI) has commenced youth education on the right values through arts and the media.
Executive Director, Greg Nwamadi, at a press briefing on the public presentation of his two books, Lush Garden in an Arid Land and Legend of the Lost, said the need for social values is a matter of major concern in the society. Nwamadi said the society is going through enormous changes that redefined how young people perceive social values. He said the organisation has assumed the moral responsibility of ensuring that the values that are the mainstay of traditional family systems are sustained.
He explained that the Lush Garden in an Arid Land is a collection of poems on essential values for social development while Legend of the Lost is a fiction that looks into contemporary events. He urged the society to hold on to faith in order to combat societal vices arising from the changing roles of spouses and children within the family.
The two books would be unveiled today at Golden Gate restaurant with a keynote address themed, “Technology and values for future leaders” to be delivered by Chairman, Governing Council of the Institute of Information Management Dr Oyedokun A. Oyewole.
