Group set to honour students, teachers in Lagos community

The Ikorodu Division Human Resources Development Board is set to honour academic excellence and service among public school students and teachers in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The event tagged the Ikorodu Division Education Stakeholders’ Summit would feature a public lecture with the theme, “Family Structure, Child Socialisation and Children Holistic Development.”

According to the Chairman of the summit’s planning committee, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, the lecture of the summit themed ‘Family Structure, Child Socialisation and Children Holistic Development’ will be delivered by Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, a lecturer from the Department of Sociological Education Studies, Lagos State University of Education.

Ogunlewe said, “Two eminent education personalities, Emeritus Prof Kunle Wahab, a retired Professor of Building Technology and Estate Management from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and Dame Adunola Benson, founder, Ikorodu High School and Adunola Benson Private School, Ikorodu, would be honoured with special recognition awards for their contributions to the development of education in Ikorodu division.”

As gathered, the event would be chaired by a retired former Director of the National Airspace Management Agency, Dr Ganiyu Agbaje, while the Lagos State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka would be the co-chairman.

The epoch-making event which would also play host to Ikorodu Division Royal fathers and other important dignitaries had been scheduled to be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall in Ikorodu.
