WITH Africa’s struggle not having accessible professional network that could actively and effectively promote science, technology and innovation (STI), the Africa Science Communication Network Ltd (ASCN), is set to launch a network known as the Africa Science Gateway (ASG), which will help in enhancing collaboration with the government, private sector and more importantly for universities.

In a press statement made available to The Guardian, CEO, Africa Science Communication Network Ltd (ASCN), Sean Intiomale, said with the network, the different sectors in Africa would be empowered to freely engage on sharing information and experiences, improve science’s visibility on the whole continent and also enable networking and collaborations between all other sectors on the continent.

He said: “We believe that Africa should be able to rely on its capacity to develop the necessary tools and information infrastructure to grow its global portfolio and reduce spending on costly tools that cannot speak to its niche stakeholders.”
