A group, Ogun West Elders Forum (OGWEF) has warned political parties and other stakeholders in Ogun State to stop all planned imposition of candidates that may hinder the zone from producing next governor in 2019.

It also appealed to party leaders to field their gubernatorial candidates from Ogun West, in the interest of equity, justice and fairness.

Chairman of the Elders Forum, Chief Olu Agemo, who frowned at what he termed ongoing plans to manipulate the wish of people, said: “We want to place it on record that Ogun West Elders Forum is working hard behind the scene to encourage all political parties in Ogun State to field their gubernatorial candidates from Ogun West.”

The group commended former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for authoring great developmental strides in Yewaland and the state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for his public statements to support Ogun West for Governor in 2019.

Similarly, Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chapter has advised its aspirants for elective posts in 2019 to begin early to do the needful, as the party has resolved to do away with all manner of imposition of candidates with impunity.

The party reiterated its supremacy as enshrined in its constitution and urged all the party faithful to remain loyal, steadfast and continue to have confidence in the party’s leadership.

The state chairman Chief Johnson Onuigbo who made this known in Umuahia, said the resolution of the PDP State Working Committee is to provide all aspirants common level playing ground.
