The first step of the project assignment was finalised with the creation of ideas, which was later approved by the group’s mentor. They were also tasked with the responsibility of meeting stakeholders to interact with them on the details of their project.
They carried out their project at the Idi-Araba Junior High School in the Mushin area of Lagos to see their vision care objective fulfilled.
The finance officer of the team, Shalom Adedeji, while speaking on the award, said: “We did not set out to win the award but to see that our goal was achieved.
“We were able to distribute free eyeglasses to about 60 children and supply info graphics aid to primary school pupils aside from training the teachers on how to identify eye emergencies.
“We were surprised to learn that we won the award.”
Shalom, who attributed the team’s success to God, as everything is a story and a phase that has strengthened the group, admonished the younger ones to never relent in their efforts.
Shalom, therefore, advised youths to get collaborative skills and always look out for opportunities.
