Gunmen have abducted one Abubakar Sadiq Ujmar, a staff of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, Adamawa State.

According to the Spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in the early hours of February 17, 2025, at about 0130 hours, a gang of unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers encroached upon the community, firing sporadically to instil fear and abducted Abubakar Sadiq Umar (a.k.a. Haske), a staff of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, and three others.

Nguroje said upon receiving a distress call at about 0330 hours, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, deployed the command’s operational manpower and assets to augment the strength of the Divisional Police Officer, Kojoli Division, for a tactical search and rescue operation.

“The command, while assuring of its intensifying efforts to rescue the victims unhurt and bring the perpetrators to justice, urges members of the public, particularly residents of Jada LGA, to collaborate with the security agents deployed to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victims,” the spokesperson said.

He said the commissioner of police urged members of the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
