The lawmaker narrated the ordeal to both men, saying the kidnappers visited his residence at night on the fateful day while he was absent, and abducted his junior wife.He said the gunmen also ransacked and carted away valuables such as money, jewelry, and mobile phones, and that they have called demanding for ransom.

Masari, who prayed for such incident not to repeat itself, also prayed for safe and speedy return of the lawmaker’s wife. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Gambo Isah, said he would make an enquiry on the development.

Meanwhile, the secretary of Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Uba Muhammad Shiye, has also been kidnapped. Shiye was kidnapped by gunmen on Saturday in his hometown of Shiye in Bunkure Local Government Area of the state.

This was disclosed by his brother, who pleaded anonymity. He told newsmen that the abductors of the secretary called and demanded N20 million ransom.“My brother’s abductors have called his family on phone and demanded N20 million ransom. They promised that as soon as we pay the money, they would set him free. I am appealing to my brother’s abductors to consider our situation, we are not from rich family and we don’t have the amount of money they are demanding. I am therefore pleading with them to set my brother free for the sake of Allah,” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Musa Majia, confirming the incident, said the secretary was kidnapped in his house in Shiye village around 1:00p.m. and the matter was reported to the police around 9:00p.m.

Majia said the Commissioner of Police, Rabi’u Yusuf, had dispatched operatives of Anti-Kidnapping and Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to Bunkure local government to search for the abducted secretary.

“The kidnappers have demanded N20 million ransom, but we are working on some clues to rescue the secretary and God willing we will soon rescue and reunite him with his family,” Majia assured.
