Residents of Tunga Maje village, near Zuba in Abuja, have been thrown into panic following the kidnap of Friday Makama, Frederick Adejoh and others from their Hilltop Hotel lodge.

Makama, who represented Igalamela/Odolo Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly had, some months ago, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Adejoh is the Oma Onu Aya of Igalaland.

The armed men had shot sporadically into the air, causing security guards to scamper for safety, before they kidnapped the hotel guests and the owner of the hotel.

Tunga Maje and the notorious Kaduna–Abuja highway have been known as haven for kidnappers and hoodlums.

Management of the hotel has reported the incident to the police.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mariam Yusuf, who confirmed the incident, noted that the command launched manhunt for the abductors.

“The command has launched a strategic operation to rescue the victims unhurt,” she added.
