Unknown gunmen have shot dead a clergyman, popularly called Prophet ThankGod Abam, at his residence in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Unknown gunmen have shot dead a clergyman, popularly called Prophet ThankGod Abam, at his residence in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Abam was the general overseer of Intercessory Prayer Ministry in Abuja.

The Guardian gathered from sources that he was in Port Harcourt for his son’s dedication tomorrow. It was also learnt that the assailants shot him at close range.

The late clergyman’s friend, Christopher Ugbogu, lamenting his murder, prayed to God to avenge his murder.

“Prophet ThankGod Abam Ubi was my bestman during my wedding and his wife was my wife’s chief bridesmaid…. A man with the heart of a lion.

“The news of your sudden death has destabilised me…. ThankGod Abam Ubi, nothing has the capacity to cage the spirit of a warrior. Your spirit must avenge your life from those involved.

“Rest in peace my brother,” he said.

The Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the death, said efforts were on to unravel the killers.
