Gunmen kill DPO, inspector in Imo
Gunmen suspected to be members of the Biafra Liberation Army have killed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Ahiazu Mbaise local government area and an inspector in Imo State.
It was gathered that the DPO and his orderly were ambushed on Monday, 27 November, 2023 at Ahiara junction while refueling their operational vehicle at BOEK fuel station.
A viral video captured the lifeless body of the DPO, with multiple gunshot wounds, on the ground, while civilians removed the orderly from the operational van.
Meanwhile, no fewer than 18 suspected IPOB members involved in the killing of the DPO and Inspector have been arrested by the operatives of Imo State Police Command.
A swift response of tactical police led by Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma is tracking the suspects.
