Popular actor and veteran broadcaster, Patrick Doyle, has announced the birth of a daughter with his wife, Funmilayo. The announcement, which was shared via a social media post on Saturday, confirmed that the couple welcomed their first child together.

Doyle expressed profound gratitude for the new arrival, whom he identified as Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle.

According to the broadcaster, the infant was born at approximately 10:40 AM.

He wrote, “To the glory of God, I announce the precious addition of a female child to my quiver.” He further noted that both the mother and child are in stable condition, describing himself as “overwhelmed with joy.”

This birth marks a significant milestone for Doyle and Funmilayo, who married in 2023. The union followed the actor’s highly publicised separation and subsequent divorce from his former wife, the renowned veteran actress Iretiola Doyle.

Patrick Doyle’s relationship with Funmilayo has been more private compared to his previous marriage, though he occasionally shares glimpses of their life together on digital platforms. The arrival of Omayinuwa is the first child born to the couple since they formalised their union three years ago.

Patrick Doyle was previously married to Ireti Doyle for over two decades. The pair were considered one of Nollywood’s most enduring power couples until rumors of their separation began to circulate in 2017. Ireti Doyle later confirmed the dissolution of the marriage in an interview in early 2023, stating that the union had officially ended and that she had moved on.

From his marriage to Ireti, as well as a previous union prior to that, Patrick Doyle is a father to several adult children. His family history has been marked by both professional success and personal tragedy; he notably lost his first wife and a son to sickle cell anaemia years ago. Despite these past hardships, Doyle has remained a central figure in the Nigerian media landscape, often speaking on themes of faith and resilience.

Patrick Doyle rose to national prominence in the 1980s and 1990s as a broadcaster and actor. He is well-regarded for his work as a presenter on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and for his roles in classic Nollywood productions such as Violated and The Widow.
