Here Are The Highlights Of The Week
Life has a way of humbling us- one minute you are flying in the sky and the next struggling to rise with broken wings. This week saw a lot of celebrities open up about secrets that will make or mar their career path. Here is a rundown of the week:
Cardi B has taken to Instagram yet again after a video of her admitting to using sex to drug and rape men surfaced online. The video has generated a lot of backlash for the Bronx rapper with many calling for her arrest. It should be recalled that after the video went viral, she took to social media to fire back at her critics saying she has never claimed to be an angel and also warned people to stop harassing her. Only a few days ago, she announced plans to write her book so that she can tell her own story rather than the media’s portrayal of her.
Media personality, Wendy Williams was rushed to the hospital after she was found drunk. According to multiple reports, William’s relapse was triggered by the news of the birth of her husband, Kevin Hunter’s love child with his younger mistress, Hudson. It would be recalled that earlier this month, Williams addressed her marriage troubles on her show and defended it, saying, “Marriages are not easy. And don’t ask me about mine until you see [my wedding ring] gone – it ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime’ However, this new development may cause her to divorce Kevin.
It’s the sound of victory
Prosecutors dropped all charges against former Empire actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused of fabricating a racist and homophobic hate crime. The 36-year-old actor had denied 16 felony counts of allegedly masterminding a false attack on the streets of downtown Chicago to gain publicity and win a bigger paycheck. Smollett was accused of sending himself a threatening letter and hiring two acquaintances to stage a street attack, complete with homophobic and racial slurs, while invoking Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan. Meanwhile, producers of Empire have said they have no comment about this development.

Not again Justin!
Justin Bieber’s loyal fans may have subtly caused the closure of a tourist site. Fjaðrárgljúfur, which was featured in Bieber’s I’ll Show You music video, has been closed to the public until June, the Environmental Agency of Iceland stated. Blaming Bieber for the tourism spike, agency official Daníel Freyr Jónsson said that not many people outside of Iceland knew about the destination prior to the music video. “This canyon was somewhat unknown,” he said. “There has been an increase of 50 percent to 80 percent between 2016, 2017 and 2018.” Uh…are you thinking what I’m thinking, Brain?
