Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin commissions Cardiff Polo & Resort in Ibadan

…A Milestone in Oyo State’s Real Estate and Leisure Sector

In a move that underscores the growing momentum in Oyo State’s real estate and leisure industries, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, officially commissioned the Cardiff Polo & Resort — a flagship development by Edala Development, an emerging player in Nigeria’s property sector.

Held in Moniya, Ibadan, the commissioning ceremony brought together a cross-section of stakeholders including investors, traditional leaders, government officials, and members of the business community. Guests witnessed the unveiling of completed infrastructure and the formal allocation of plots to pioneer investors — signalling a new phase in the estate’s rollout.

Cardiff Polo & Resort is designed as a lifestyle-oriented community combining residential living with sport and leisure. The estate has already delivered a range of key facilities aimed at enhancing its appeal, including a regulation-size polo club, a full-sized football pitch, basketball and lawn tennis courts, a gated access point with a well-laid road network, and ongoing plot allocations to early investors.

Speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin, who served as Chairman of the Day, praised the initiative and called on the private sector to continue supporting the state’s development drive.

“We must continue to build a reputation that gives people confidence to invest in Oyo State. This estate is part of the growth we want to see.”

He emphasized the importance of private investment in driving sustainable development and urged businesses to explore opportunities within the state’s evolving real estate landscape.

“I’m happy to associate myself with this project. And I urge other businesses to look into real estate as a viable path to grow wealth and develop our state,” he said.

Reaffirming his optimism about the state’s potential, he added:

“Oyo State is a thriving economy. We are growing rapidly, and without a doubt, this is the future of Nigeria.”

The highlight of the event came as the Speaker officially commissioned the estate, declaring:

“In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit — I commission Cardiff Polo & Resort.”

He concluded with a heartfelt prayer: “May it bring good fortune and be glorious for the developers and everyone investing in it.”

Also present at the occasion were other top dignitaries including the Honourable Commissioner for Culture & Tourism, Oyo State, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, and the Executive Adviser to the Governor on Youth & Sports, Dr. Seun Fakorede. Both delivered remarkable speeches commending the project for its visionary integration of lifestyle, sports, and real estate — noting its alignment with the state’s broader agenda of youth engagement, tourism development, and private sector growth.

Temidayo Oloyede, CEO and Co-founder of Edala Development, expressed gratitude to guests and early investors, highlighting the estate as part of the company’s broader vision to redefine property ownership.

“This is a dream come true. Cardiff Polo & Resort is our way of saying real estate can be more than buildings — it can be lifestyle, legacy, and generational wealth. We’re proud to be contributing meaningfully to Oyo State’s development journey.”

He assured prospective investors of Edala’s long-term commitment to excellence, hinting at future phases that will introduce eco-residential clusters, commercial zones, and green infrastructure designed to ensure lasting value and sustainability
