HoS applauds Gov for approving 100% basic salary as Xmas bonus
Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, has commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving 100 per cent staff basic salary as year 2024 Christmas bonus for civil servants in state employment.
Speaking at the Mr Governor’s Luncheon With Y2024 Outstanding Officers (junior and senior categories) In Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Local councils and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), Agoro said: “Mr. Governor sir, it is important I register the collective appreciation and gratitude of Lagos State Public Servants, not only for your consistent gracious approval of the Public Service Week celebration annually, but also for your unyielding commitment to prioritization of staff matters, which has once again been demonstrated by approving 100 per cent of staff basic salary as Y2024 Christmas bonus and hosting of these outstanding officers in the state Public Service for the fourth year running.”
The HoS disclosed that out of the many nominations submitted for outstanding officer of the year, 210 officers were finally recommended to receive the Outstanding Officers’ Award in line with the criteria. He added that the awardees comprised 117 for the senior category, while 93 officers were chosen for the junior category.
“In congratulating today’s awardees, I urge you not to rest on your laurels but continue to exhibit the high sense of responsibility, diligence, commitment to duty and unalloyed loyalty which are the qualities and values for which you are being recognized today.”
In a raffle draw held at the event and picked by Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, six staff won cars in the senior staff category.They were Folarin Timothy, Saliu Oluwasegun Ojedele Idayat, Opeoluwa Moshood, Ogunade Ahmed and Adeleye Saidat.
Also, five staff, Adewuyi Ramon Adewale, Edu Aminatu Omotayo, Onaleye Atinuke Eunice, Adeniyi Omobolanle Aishat, and Kuti Basit Eniola won N5 million each in the junior staff category while another 11 civil servants won N100,000 each.
