Hotel Presidential not for sale, says Enugu govt

Enugu State government stated, at the weekend, that the now moribund Hotel Presidential is not for sale, stressing that it is determined to revamp it in no distant time to boost its tourism efforts.

Governor Peter Mbah, who disclosed this, while unveiling an art gallery, Kachi James’ Gallery, in Enugu, stated that his administration is determined to promote tourism to create employment and shore up the revenue of the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ugochi Madueke, Mbah stated that clearing of bushes in the premises and surroundings of the hotel had started, urging the people of the state to be patient with his government.

“If you noticed, you will see that recently the Hotel Presidential was cleared. All the bushes and trees were cut. We are working seriously on the hotel, and very soon, you will see that work will start there. Authoritatively, before the next six months, you will see work commence there, and even at the abandoned international conference centre,” he stated.
