House of Reps member arrested in Rivers with foreign currencies
A lawmaker in the House of Representatives, Dr. Chinyere Igwe, has been arrested with an unspecified amount of foreign currencies in Rivers State.
Igwe, a member Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who represents Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, was arrested on Friday morning along Aba Road in Port Harcourt.
Rivers State Police Command spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the arrest of the lawmaker.
“A statement on it will be released soon,” the police spokesperson said.
Igwe is a supporter of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar who has been at loggerheads with Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike.
