CAN congratulates Ooni on 50th birthday
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Saturday congratulated the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), on his 50th birthday celebration.
The Christian body eulogises the monarch, saying that his leadership has been characterized by a profound commitment to peace, cultural preservation and the upliftment of people.
In a statement in Abuja, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, described the Ooni as a shining example of traditional leadership, adding that the monarch’s efforts to foster interfaith harmony and intercultural cooperation align with CAN’s belief that diversity should serve as both an asset and a unifying force for progress.
He said: “This milestone not only marks the passage of time, but also celebrates the profound impact you have made as a first-class traditional ruler, and a beacon of hope and unity for our great nation. In a world often divided by differences, your role as a traditional leader highlights the significance of faith, love, and understanding.
“As you celebrate this golden jubilee, may you continue to be blessed with wisdom, strength, and the grace to lead your people with integrity and purpose. We look forward to your continued leadership and the positive impact you will undoubtedly make in the years to come.”
