Hadiza Isma El-rufai, the wife of the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai, has said she does not fear Sharia.

This was after she shared a photo of herself in front of a Christmas tree and a statue of Father Christmas on X with the caption, “Merry Christmas y’all.”

Amazed by the photo shared by Hadiza who is a Muslim.from the north, one X user, @Ezekielism, asked, “You no fear Hizbolah or Sharia madam?”

In response, Hadiza said, “No,” to the amazement of other X users who pointed out that Sharia law is only for the poor and not the elite Muslims.

Meanwhile, a plan to inaugurate a Sharia Court in Oyo State has been met with pushbacks from youths in the Southwest who claim that the region doesn’t need extremism, adding that Sharia has not benefited northern states that practice the law.

A flyer cited by our correspondent shows that the event is scheduled to be held on January 11, 2025, in Oyo, and it is hosted by the Supreme Council of Shari’ah in Nigeria, Oyo State chapter.

When made aware of the situation, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State said Sharia Court can only be allowed in the state if permitted by the Constitution of Nigeria.
