I feel your pains, Oni tells Ekiti workers on May Day

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the coming governorship election in Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, has felicitated with the state workers on the Workers Day celebration.

Oni, in a statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Segun Oni Campaign Organisation (SOCO), Mr. Jackson Adebayo, lamented the deplorable condition of workers in the state, maintaining that the situation had never been this bad.

He, however, charged the workers never to lose hope, promising that better days await them if they would allow him to “hold power in trust” for them by voting for him as the next governor of the state in June.

“I feel what you are passing through. I know this is an occasion that should naturally call for celebration, but for the fact that it is being celebrated in near penury by most of you, I believe that the sweat of the labourer should not be allowed to dry before he/she gets due rewards,” he said.

The former governor said he had entered into a pact with God that rather than retrench any worker when he returns to office as governor, he would strive to expand the economic base of the state so that more workers would be employed into the workforce.
