I will not condone threat to peace in Kogi – CP Kankarofi

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has declared he will not condone any threat to peace in the state.

CP Kankarofi made this known on Wednesday, upon assuming the command as the state CP.Briefing journalists at the command, he said, “This is my first day in the command, and today is historic and significant because this is my first posting to head a command as the CP.

“I therefore use the opportunity to commend the Inspector General of Police for the opportunity to serve the Nigerian Police Force in this capacity.”My primary assignment at the command is to protect lives and properties in Kogi State.

I am also here to defend laws and orders.”You know we are in the era of community police policy, which therefore means I have the mandate to work with various communities across Kogi State in the interest of peace and security.

“I therefore need to let people of the state know that I will not condone threats to peace, terrorism, banditry and any act of criminality in the state.”I have already received the assurances of necessary cooperation and support from the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to be able to deliver on this mandate.

“The CP further noted that he was aware that Kogi State is an industrial state with a large number of industries. “These industries attract people from all corners to the state. I will ensure that residents of the state enjoy maximum peace and security so they can carry out their day-to-day activities in an orderly manner. I can assure everyone of maximum protection,” he said.
