ICBC to induct consultants, grow skilled workforce

Institute of Certified Business Consultants (ICBC), Nigeria is set to induct over 70 qualified professionals in the business consulting sector, boosting the institute’s contribution to the growth of a skilled and workforce in Nigeria and beyond.

The induction, scheduled for September 28, 2024, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ikeja with the theme: “Leveraging Practical Insights: How Business Consultants Shape Legacy, Reputation, and Brand Recognition,” was disclosed during a courtesy visit to The Guardian office in Lagos, yesterday, by the Assistant Registrar of ICBC Nigeria, Emmanuella Chijoke.

According to Chijoke, ICBC is dedicated to empowering professionals across various industries, from business consultants to artisans, through top-tier training programmes.

She stated that the training programmes aimed not only to enhance the skills of professionals in the workplace, but also to help entrepreneurs and artisans to develop the tools needed to thrive in evolving business environment.

Chijoke noted that the institute’s sessions cover trending and globally relevant topics, including artificial intelligence, Google Lens, and other cutting-edge technologies. She said ICBC had partnered with several organisations to provide support and resources to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

According to her, the induction ceremony will also spotlight ICBC’s structured membership system, which ranges from student members to fellows, the latter being the highest level of business consultancy.

She explained that the fellows served as mentors to those in the early stages of their careers, ensuring that knowledge and expertise were passed down within the community.

Beyond consultancy efforts, Chijoke noted that ICBC was expanding its educational initiatives, noting that the ICBC Business School, set to open next year, would provide aspiring consultants with the opportunity to earn certifications recognised both in Nigeria and internationally.

“The institute’s commitment to equipping individuals with valuable skills is further demonstrated through its collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and its free training programmes for artisans. These efforts aim to uplift various sectors of the Nigerian economy by providing artisans and entrepreneurs with the skill they need to excel.”
