Id El Maulud: Cleric urges parents to instill the teaching of Islam in their children


The Second to the Chief Imam of ‘Abigi Central Mosque,  Ogun State Nigeria, Alhaji Lawal Awomosu has enjoined all Muslim faithful to embrace peace and practice the teachings of the Holy Qu’ran and Prophet Mohammed, while also calling on parents to ensure their wards never depart the teachings of the Holy Prophet. He made the call during a lecture to mark this year’s Id el Maulud’

“According to him, Islam is a religion of peace. He, therefore, urged all Muslim brothers and sisters to reflect the noble practice of ensuring peaceful co-existence with every member of the society. ”Id el Maulud’ should be celebrated with moderation as Islam forbids extravagant.

The Islamic scholar seized this period to admonish all Muslims and Nigerians, in general, to be united as lack of unity amongst various ethnic groups in the country continue to remain a major setback to our socio-economic prosperity as a nation.

“As we celebrate this year’s  ‘Id el Maulud I pray we witness more of it in life. He also prays the Almighty Allah, the most merciful and beneficent brings everlasting peace to our dear country, Nigeria”


In his final remark, he condemned Muslim faithful, particularly Muslim youths who denounce their faith, for some other religion, blaming and admonishing their guardians and parents for failing to teach them the teachings of the Holy Qu’ran and the teachings of Prophet Mohammed, saying the ‘Id el Maulud feast of Prophet Mohammed enjoins all Muslims to remain steadfast in their Islamic faiths and believes, he advised all Muslim faithful to bring up their wards in Islamic way so that they will not deviate from the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (SAS)he calls it an act of insubordination. He emphatically condemns the act as he urges muslims faithful and parents not to tolerate any such thought from their ward/children . In the same vein, he also seizes the opportunity to wish the IGP, CP Lagos State, Speaker of the House Lagos State House of Assembly, Chief Imam FCT Abuja, the Chief Imam of Ogun State chapter, the Islamic Olori Odo Ibadan chapter, and the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu well on the celebration. Wishing everyone ‘HAPPY ID  EL MAULUD’, he concluded.
