IE University champions future leadership at Lagos masterclass

As the rules of leadership evolve at lightning speed, IE University brought the conversation to Lagos on June 5, 2025, with a powerful masterclass that challenged conventional thinking.

The event, hosted by the Nigerian arm of the globally renowned institution, was part of an exclusive series designed for prospective MBA and undergraduate candidates.

It tackled the urgent need for today’s leaders to rethink their approach in a world increasingly shaped by intelligent automation and digital transformation.

Titled: “Future Ready: Leading in the Age of Intelligent Work,” the masterclass brought together a dynamic group of professionals, entrepreneurs, and ambitious young talents seeking to understand how to remain competitive in a world where the shelf life of expertise continues to shrink.

“Today’s business environment demands more than experience, it demands evolution,” said the Director of West Africa, Kachi Eke. “Leadership is no longer about having the right answers, but about asking the right questions, fostering innovation, and developing the agility to pivot when the landscape shifts.”

The session delved deep into themes such as understanding digital transformation, developing adaptive leadership, and building future-ready teams, offering participants a preview of the kind of future-focused learning IE is known for.

Attendees were challenged to view leadership not just as a title, but as a fluid, strategic capability that must constantly adapt in order to remain relevant.

According to the organisers, this masterclass is part of IE’s broader commitment to equipping African talent, including rising professionals and seasoned executives, with the tools to lead in tomorrow’s world. By fostering a space for strategic dialogue and transformative learning, IE is helping to shape a new generation of African leaders who can thrive at the intersection of innovation, technology, and global business.

The next edition of the event is scheduled for Abuja on June 14, 2025, promising the same cutting-edge insights and a chance to engage with the university’s world-class faculty and network.

As businesses across Nigeria navigate the complexities of digitisation, events like this offer a critical platform for reflection, connection, and transformation, which are core principles at the heart of IE University’s mission.
