Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State yesterday inaugurated the state’s boundary commission to be headed by Deputy Governor Gerald Irona. The governor directed the members to carry out their duties in line with the set standards to ensure peace and security in the land.

“Luckily as a state, we do not have serious crisis with boundary issues, but your duty is to set standards and ensure that where there is a possible conflict, they are nipped in the bud on time,” he said.

Meanwhile, Irona, who promised to handle the boundary matters on behalf of others creditably, said the commission would mediate in boundary matters within the state and also interface with the National Boundary Commission on related issues, which affect inter-state issues.
