Ijagemo residents send SOS to Ambode, Owoseni over kidnappings

Residents of Ijagemo community in Ijegun area of Lagos State have sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) message to the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Amdode and State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni over incessant attacks by unknown gunmen.

Residents of Ijagemo community in Ijegun area of Lagos State have sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) message to the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Amdode and State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni over incessant attacks by unknown gunmen.

They said many residents have been maimed while others have been abducted from their homes for ransom.

According to the Chairman of the community, Chief Majeed Adio Ajakaiye, the area has been under attack by kidnappers since November 2016.

He said over 15 persons had been kidnapped from their homes and three of them released after payment of huge ransom, adding that other victims were still held captives by their abductors.

“We urge Governor Ambode to intervene urgently and come to our rescue, by destroying the kidnappers’ den in the area”.
