Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has debunked insinuations circulating in some quarters over the last few days that he has either stepped down from the 2027 Kwara State governorship race or endorsed another candidate’s candidature.
“I wish to state clearly and unequivocally that there is no truth whatsoever in such claims,” he said in a statement on Friday.
Oloriegbe stated that he remains fully in the race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket, adding that he has not endorsed any aspirant.
According to him, his decision to contest is rooted in a sincere conviction about the future of Kwara State and the need to offer experienced, competent, and inclusive leadership to move the state to greater heights.
“With the rescheduling of the party’s governorship primary election to this morning, I hereby call on all my supporters, delegates, and progressive-minded members of our great party across the state to come out en masse to vote for my candidacy,” he said.
The lawmaker also urged everyone to remain peaceful, orderly, and law-abiding throughout the exercise. “Our strength as progressives lies in our commitment to democracy, fairness, and unity of purpose,” he said.
Oloriegbe expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, solidarity, and encouragement received across the state, and urged people to remain resolute and hopeful.
