Immigration opens digital platform for expatriates to apply for residence permit

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has launched a new digital platform for the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Automated Card (CERPAC), application process.

This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to reform and enhance the NIS’s operations.

The new online portal, accessible at https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng, allows applicants to submit their CERPAC applications digitally, aiming to improve transparency, efficiency, and user experience.

According to the NIS Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, effective August 1, 2025, the use of physical CERPAC forms will be discontinued.

He said all applications submitted after July 31, 2025, must be completed exclusively through the online platform, and unsubmitted CERPAC forms are advised to be finalized and submitted by July 31, 2025, to maintain their application status and avoid losing associated payments.

The agency urged individuals and companies responsible for immigration procedures for expatriates to complete all pending submissions within this timeframe to prevent any inconvenience, as unsubmitted CERPAC forms post-deadline will be rendered invalid.
