Imo commissioner dies few weeks after appointment
Few weeks after his appointment and swearing in, Imo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Tony Okere, has died.
An aide to Governor Emeka Ihedioha, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident, disclosing that he died yesterday after suffering from stroke relapse recently adding that the late Okere collapsed at one of the State Executive Council (EXCO), meeting, was revived but passed away soon after. The deceased was a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ohaji /Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency some years ago.
Before his appointment as commissioner, the late Okere had held government appointments in the state.
