The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the killing of the traditional ruler of Otulu Amumara Autonomous Community in the Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Joe Ochulor, by gunmen.
Henry Okoye, police spokesperson in Imo, said in a statement that the traditional ruler was abducted by gunmen on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
He said his lifeless body was found less than 24 hours later along Mbutu Community Road
Okoye stated that the Commissioner of Police, Danjuma Aboki, condemned the killing of the traditional ruler.
He said Aboki has vowed that the command would do everything possible to make sure the perpetrators are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
Meanwhile, Okoye revealed that the CP has set up investigating team to look into the matter.
Also, he urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police by providing useful information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
