Imo reschedules council poll to August 25
Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) has rescheduled the election into 27 local councils in the state to August 25. The Chairman of the commission, Ethelbert Ibeabuchi, disclosing this at a stakeholders’ meeting in Owerri, said the decision to shift the election from July 28 was to enable all the political parties involved to organise their primaries and field candidates for the exercise in response to their request.
According to the ISIEC boss, the commission will no longer entertain another excuse for postponement, urging all the players to be ready.
He promised a level-playing ground before, during and after the poll.
