The Indonesian Government has expressed readiness to assist Nigeria in the manufacturing of locally made aircraft and military equipment.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Usra Harahap stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Prof. Mohammed Haruna in Abuja.
Harahap noted that the Indonesian embassy has received an update of quotation of weapons and equipment from the Federal Government estimated at $57m.

On his part, Haruna said the FG was committed to building on the existing relationship between Nigeria and Indonesia in terms of the transfer of technology.
He said the partnership was a sequel to President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive on the manufacturing of local equipment and tools.
The NASENI boss added: “Indonesia is assisting us in the development of aircraft, both civil and military, the armoured personnel carrier, and other equipment needed by the military, and of course technologies in the areas of development of fertiliser from locally available resources.
“Other areas are on the implementation of agricultural mechanisation and irrigation system that will enhance and improve crop yields in our farms.”
