The Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi state has challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to come to equity with clean hands and explain the mystery surrounding the collection of PVC by Gov Yahaya Bello in Okene.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi state has challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to come to equity with clean hands and explain the mystery surrounding the collection of PVC by Gov Yahaya Bello in Okene.

PDP Director of Research and Documentation, Dickson Achadu, said the governor is culpable, having been registered twice, once in Abuja and again in Kogi State Government House. The party said INEC must explain what is happening and the circumstances surrounding the governors double registration, especially as the governor has been dragged to court for registering twice.

“INEC must reassure Kogi citizens of its readiness to conduct free, fair and credible polls in 2019, as the governor’s action is making citizens lose confidence. It is unimaginable that having confessed to not being able to transfer his PVC before 2015 and the governor’s second registration held in the government House, Lokoja, INEC can still participate in the drama that took place at INEC office Okene yesterday,” the party said.
