He boasted that the governorship election billed for October this year in Kogi will also be won by the APC.

LACK of internal democracy leading to imposition of candidates in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been identified as a major cause for its abysmal outing in the Presidential and National Assembly elections an All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje has said.

Ocheje, a prominent Kogi politician who spoke yesterday on the heels of the victory of his APC in the elections., said: “Yes! The lack of internal democracy in PDP is responsible for the failure of the party in recent elections. Imagine some of the members would stay in Abuja with claims that they would deliver their states whereas the same people don’t have electoral value.”
He said those surrounding Governor Idris Wada in Lokoja were merely deceiving him when they claimed they would deliver their local councils.
He said most of them on the election day were liabilities as they could not deliver their units.
“There are 2583 polling units in the state and at any point in time, we can dislodge any party because we in APC are working together and speaking with one voice.”

He boasted that the governorship election billed for October this year in Kogi will also be won by the APC.

“We will not leave any stone unturned in our quest to achieve victory for APC. Though I don’t know if the governor will contest or not, but if I am opportuned to meet him, I will advise him to come to APC. We are resolute to take over the state in the House of Assembly election.
According to him, the era of people taking money to vote for a particular party is over.
“We have demonstrated it and they know it that they can no longer force candidates on the people.
“Now they have seen that such act is a gross misconduct against the people. Now by the time we go back to the drawing board, we will decide who and who will be beneficiary of the victory.”

He said the APC is the new bride while the PDP has gone into oblivion with the defeat.

According to Ocheje,‎: “Governorship election in the state is around the corner and the APC will also win because we want the economy of the state to improve for a better future for our children. I would advised Wada to join the progressives because there is nothing ileft in PDP,” he said.

The APC chieftain who dumped the PDP for the APC two years earlier, said he was used and dumped by the PDP over flimsy excuses.
He said after all his contribution to install governor Idris Wada he was tagged irrelevant in the politics of the state.

According to him, he decamped to APC to send the PDP out of the state to prove that he was still relevant .

“I was the PDP chairman Kogi East Senatorial district. I worked with former Governor Abubakar Audu as a mobilizer and he won. I also worked for former Governor Ibrahim Idris and he was victorious and now I am in APC and we are victorious today. This shows that you can’t be in Abuja and claim that you are on ground. ,” he said.
