The Integrity Group of Nigeria, also known as the Renewed Hope Agenda Ambassadors, has called on Nigerians not to lose confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that the Federal Government’s target of building a $1 trillion economy by 2030 remains realistic and achievable.
The group made the appeal during a well-attended world press conference held at its headquarters in Asaba, where its Convener, Dr. Oke Idawene, commended the President for what he described as strategic measures aimed at strengthening the economy and supporting state governments.
Idawene specifically praised the Tinubu administration for increasing allocations to states, noting that the move has enabled governors to undertake more infrastructure projects and improve service delivery to citizens.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient with the government, likening the President’s leadership to that of a surgeon carrying out a delicate operation.
“We urge citizens to stay calm and not lose faith in the Tinubu-led government. Tinubu is like a doctor in the theatre; you cannot appraise him until he comes out successfully with the patient,” he said.
The group, which described itself as a self-funded grassroots movement sustained by patriotic Nigerians, said it has spent the last three years promoting good governance, civic participation, and political mobilisation across the country.
Reaffirming its political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections, Idawene declared the group’s total support for the re-election ambitions of both Sheriff Oborevwori and President Tinubu.
He announced that the organisation had set ambitious mobilisation targets of 200,000 votes for Governor Oborevwori in Delta State and 10 million votes nationwide for Tinubu.
Speaking further on the Delta governorship contest, Idawene described the 2027 race as a “no contest,” arguing that Governor Oborevwori’s performance in office had already earned him broad public support across the state.
He also advised prospective governorship aspirants in Delta State to reconsider their ambitions, maintaining that the governor had consolidated enough goodwill to secure another term.
On concerns expressed in some quarters over the possibility of Nigeria sliding into a one-party state, the group’s Deputy National Media Director, Ufuoma Onovughakpo, dismissed the claims.
According to her, Nigeria’s democratic system remains vibrant, with all registered political parties free to contest elections and present alternative visions to the electorate.
