The Kaduna State chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) may be heading for internal crises, as notable stakeholders of the party yesterday, accused the Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai of hijacking the party structure to promote personal agenda at the detriment of other party members in the state.

The party chieftains, who protested against El-Rufai urged the national headquarters of the party to immediately set up machinery to prevent the Governor from hijacking the party.

Among the prominent APC members, who organised a press conference to protest the alleged use of the party for selfish purpose by El-Rufai, were Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Comrade Suleiman Ahmed, who represented Senator Shehu Sani, Dr. Tom Maitamaki Maiyashi, Hajiya Hafsat Baba and Alhaji Kabir Umar.

The spokesperson of the aggrieved APC members, Alhaji Murtala Abubakar said that “as responsible people, who successfully worked hard to remove the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and put our party in power, it is with tremendous reluctance that we make public, issues and grievances that should otherwise been raised and settled in engagements with those who have responsibility to address them. We decided to speak out because other avenues are no longer available”.
