Zulum charges military to end Boko Haram

Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has urged security operatives in the state to track down the killers of Ardo-Kola Council Chairman, Salihu Dovo.

Unknown gunmen reportedly killed Dovo shortly after abducting him in the early hours of Sunday from his Sabon-Gari residence in Jalingo metropolis.

In a statement yesterday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu, the governor insisted that the perpetrators must not be spared.

Describing the act as “barbaric and wicked,” he assured of his government’s determination to support security operatives to smoke out the perpetrators from their hideouts.

He directed the security agencies to step up investigation in the matter, so that the murderers could be made to face the music.
He described Dovo as “a good man, a man with an abiding love for service to humanity and who certainly did not deserve to die in the circumstances that he did.”

SIMILARLY, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has charged the army to end Boko Haram terrorism and restore peace to the North East.
While presenting the staff of office to the Emir of Biu, Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha II, in Biu, Borno State, at the weekend, Zulum lauded the army for its efforts so far.

“I sincerely commend the efforts of the military in ending Boko Haram terrorism that has claimed many lives and property in this state,” he said.

The governor also praised the armed forces, other security agencies, vigilante groups and members of the Civilian JTF on recent successes recorded in the fight against terrorists in Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad region.

He added: “Let me commend the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air Staff and their directors and principals in the military high command, the Theatre Commander, the GOC, sector commanders, brigade commanders, commanding officers, men and officers in the theatre of operation, the police and all other security agencies working in Borno for the support they have rendered.”

According to him, the collaborative support has not only secured the territorial integrity of the country, but returned 1.5 million Internally-Displaced Persons (IDP) to their ancestral communities.
