IJAW Youth Congress (IYC) has condemned the recent bomb attacks on oil installations and pipelines in Delta and Bayelsa states, saying such acts have nothing to do with the Niger Delta agitation and struggles.

Speaking in Yenagoa, yesterday, president of IYC worldwide, Comrade Udengs Eradiri said the vandalism and bombing of oil installations were capable of not only destroying the environment but also family lineages in decades to come.
Stressing that the IYC abhors such act, Eradiri, said Nigeria and the international communities must not construe pipeline vandalism and the recent act of sabotage with agitation in the region.

“We must not construe the destruction of pipelines with agitation in the Niger Delta. As far as I am concerned, all the incidents that have occurred in recent times have nothing to with agitation of the Niger Delta and I am sure security operatives will begin to get the picture.

In Delta state, some people who think they are loyal to a political party decided to create confusion so they can take charge, forgetting that people like Tompolo and Ateke Tom have built a reputation over the years which they are using to the advantage of government.”
