The national leader of the Izala (Ahlus-Sunnah) movement, Sheikh Bala Lau, has commended the Director-General of the State Services, Mr. Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, for his role in easing tensions in Kano State following a dispute involving Mallam Abubakar Lawal, also known as “Triump.”
Speaking to congregants during a preaching session in Ibadan, Sheik Lau said the DGSS intervention was pivotal in “taming the brewing crises” that threatened to escalate over the case.
He explained that what was initially anticipated to result in a court charge was redirected after the DGSS instructed the Kano State Command to mediate between Islamic denominations in the state.
“The mediation allowed both sides to explore amicable resolutions instead of pursuing a confrontational path,” he said.
Sheik Lau called on the Kano State Shura Council, which was set up to investigate the matter, to conduct a thorough and impartial probe.
“Only a just outcome will guarantee peace in the state and the country at large,” he said, emphasising the importance of fairness in religious disputes.
Addressing members of the Ahlus-Sunnah movement and residents of Ibadan, the cleric expressed appreciation for their role in promoting understanding and representing Islam responsibly.
He urged religious leaders to exercise tolerance and wisdom in their preaching, saying, “Be tolerant and always apply wisdom in your mode of preaching. May Allah continue to guide us.”
