An educationist, Dr Ajama John Audu, has expressed appreciation to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for singling him out among many for recognition and honour.
Audu, who is a graduate of Benue State University (BSU) and the University of Lagos (Unilag), in a chat with The Guardian on Thursday in Makurdi, said that the award by the students came as a pleasant surprise and would spur him to do even more
NANS Joint Campus Council (JCC), Benue State Axis presented an award of excellence to the educationist during her award and prize-giving day to recognise his contribution in Critical Literary Discourse at the Social Sciences Auditorium, Benue State University, Makurdi earlier this week.
The awardee also appreciated the efforts of Comrade Ojila Yahaya Monday, NANS JCC chairman, Benue State Axis, and the organisers for the success of the event.
He also thanked Dr Meshack Terfa, his colleague in the department of English, BSU, who received the award on his behalf.
Audu, however, advised the students to balance their social activities with studies and shun drugs, cultism, and vices that would impede the realisation of their full potential.
He also thanked the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Ojotu Ojema, who was inaugurated as Grand Patron NANS Benue State Axis, for his encouragement to youths and students.
The educationist urged the students to prioritise their studies, emphasising that education is the bedrock of success .
