Joint security team rescues two Agatu children

Military-checkpointTwo teenage Agatu children who were abducted by the rampaging Fulani marauders during the recent crisis in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue state have been rescued by a combined team of the military and the police and handed over to the state Governor, Samuel Ortom yesterday.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Col. Edwin Jando, who presented the rescued children to the governor narrated that the children were taken away by their Fulani abductors from Aila village in Agatu and had since been with their abductors while efforts were made through dialogue to secure their release.

Col. Jando who lauded the efforts of both the military and the police for using dialogue to save the children from their abductors, said the tactic really paid off when the Fulani herdsmen decided to hand over the two young boys to the military for onward release to their parents.
