Removes tax clearance requirement for scholarships
Kaduna State has said the process of obtaining land titles has been simplified, allowing investors, developers and residents to acquire documents within 24 hours.
The Director General of Kaduna Geographic Information Services (KADGIS), Bashir Garba, disclosed this in a statement at the weekend. According to Garba, the simplified process aligns with the commitment of Governor Uba Sani, commitment to enhance the ease of doing business in the state.
Speaking on the procedures for obtaining documents, Garba said applicants opting for the expedited process, which would attract a higher fee, would first accept the grant of the right of occupancy, complete the perfection of deeds (in cases of assignment), and pay all required fees. He explained that the document would be sent to the conveyance unit of customer service, which would then notify the owner for collection.
MEANWHILE, Governor Sani has ordered the removal of tax clearance as a requirement for accessing scholarships, making it easier for students from poor backgrounds to receive financial support.
The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Prof Yahaya Ibrahim, while speaking to journalists in Kaduna, yesterday, said the governor’s executive order aimed to improve access to scholarships for students who need them most.
Ibrahim also revealed that essay writing remains a requirement, but is now used to identify areas where students need support rather than as a barrier to accessing scholarships.
