Kaduna crises: One killed in Kasuwan Magani, 32 arrested
A day after Kaduna State government reinstated 24-hour curfew within the metropolis and its environs, one person has been reported killed in Kasuwan Magani, kajuru Local Council and 32 suspected hoodlums arrested for breaching public peace in the state.
Spokesperson to the governor, Samuel Aruwan, made this known in a statement. The state government, following the crises in Kasuwan-Magani and its reprisal, had imposed a 24-hour curfew within Kaduna metropolis and its environs, which was later relaxed. The curfew was, however, re-instated following the tension, which trailed the killing of Agom Adara, Maiwada Galadima by suspected kidnappers.
Aruwan in his statement said: “The police reported that 32 persons have been arrested since yesterday for involvement in the disturbances. These persons will be investigated and prosecuted,” he said.
“Within the curfew areas, security agencies thwarted attempts to destroy places of worship in Kawo and Hanyin Banki,” he added.He added that the State Security Council had advised residents to comply with curfew hours, warning that only persons involved with delivering essential services would be permitted free passage.
