Kaduna State Government says its working out modalities on safe reopening of the state.

The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Jafaru Sani, said this shortly after a closed-door meeting with traditional rulers chaired by Gov. Nasir El-Rufai in Kaduna.

He said the meeting was aimed at receiving first-hand information on the state government’s response so far on the fight against COVID-19.

According to the commissioner, other issues discussed at the meeting were on strategies on re-opening the state.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional leaders, the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Zubairu Mai Gwari, assured that the economy would soon be reopened in the state.

“In the next few days after the state government goes through all the recommendations given, it will come out with means of easing life for residents,” he said.

The Emir appreciated government’s efforts at combating the pandemic and plans being put forward to ease some of the problems people were facing.
