Kaduna International Airport has resumed operation after months of suspension of flights due to security threat posed by banditry.The arrival of Air Peace ERJ-145, which touched down at the airport at exactly 5:10 p.m. on Monday, marked the resumption of flights to the route.
The Airport Manager, Adamu Sheikh, who spoke with journalists shortly after the ceremonial welcome given to the Air Peace, said more airlines are set to commence operations, stressing that adequate security has been put in place for aircraft landing and take-off.
Also, Air Peace Kaduna Station Manager, Fatima Ndayako, said the airline returned to the Kaduna route due to persistent request from their customers that needed to service them along the route.
She, however, gave the assurance that the airline would have daily operation to and fro Kaduna and Lagos. Meanwhile, passengers expressed happiness, calling on government and other relevant agencies to ensure that the airport remains functional.
