More revelations have emerged in the investigation of the controversial drug deal involving Kano State Commissioner for Transportation, Ibrahim Ali Namadi.
In the developing exposure, three additional names, among them political appointees to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, were unveiled.In a swift response to unravel the circumstances behind the bail of a drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Dan Wawu, by the commissioner, the state government constituted an eight-member committee to do justice to the issue.
Presenting its findings, chairman of the committee, Aminu Hussaini, disclosed that after due diligence, the panel invited one Musa Ado Tsamia, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Drainage, and Abubakar Umar Sharada, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Mobilisation, for their alleged involvement in the deal.
Besides, the chairman also invited another popular figure, Buhari Salisu, to answer questions after his exhaustive engagements with the Department of State Services (DSS), National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
Although the committee remained silent on its recommendations, especially whether the commissioner would be suspended, the chairman said the report would guide the government for necessary action.
Receiving the document on behalf of the governor, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Faruq Ibrahim, pledged the government’s readiness to act decisively on the recommendations.
