Kano gov congratulates National Quar’anic completion winner
The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf hailed Buhari Sanusi Idris who emerged as the winner in the male category of the 39th National Quar’anic Recitation Competition.
The spokesperson to the governor, Sanusi Bature said that Buhari who represented the state came out as the winner of the 39th edition of the competition with an outstanding score of 98.2 per cent defeating participants from 34 states.
This year’s competition edition was held in Birnin-Kebbi in Kebbi State on the 28 of December.
Governor Yusuf while expressing his delight made it known that there would be a grand reception for Buhari in the state and as the winner of the competition he already had a hajj slot right from the time he emerged as the winner at the state and national levels of the competition.
Governor Yusuf made it known that Kano state remains the home of the Qur’an while reaffirming that the state is a leading light when it comes to Islamic scholarship and recitation.
He also admonished Buhari to continue the propagation of the teachings of the Holy Book and at the same time, he also called on the Muslim Ummah to intensify prayers for peace, unity and harmony in the nation.
The Governor emphasized the importance of the Holy Qur’an in the lives of Muslims with the advise that they should not see it as “Just a Book” but as a divine source of guidance, comfort and light in the time of darkness.
He said, “This victory underscores Kano’s unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting Qur’anic education and its enduring legacy in the field of Islamic scholarship”, the statement concluded.
