President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in the Chiranci community of Kano State, describing the act as barbaric and unacceptable.
The President expressed shock over the incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the community, and the government of Kano State.
Commending the Nigeria Police Force for the swift arrest of the principal suspects, President Tinubu directed security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the diligent prosecution of all those found culpable.
He stressed that such heinous crimes have no place in Nigerian society and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property, as well as ensuring that justice is served.
President Tinubu also urged law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant and proactive in preventing violent crimes, while calling on communities to cooperate with security operatives by providing timely and credible information to help safeguard lives.
In a related development, the President expressed sorrow over the death of a renowned businessman and Kano-based commercial leader, Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, who passed away over the weekend.
Describing the loss as one that reverberates beyond the Kano business community, President Tinubu said Abdulaziz’s influence on commerce and entrepreneurship was felt across many parts of the country.
The late Dr Abdulaziz, who died in Kano, was the National President of the Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria and held leadership roles in several commerce-related unions.
Tinubu recalled the support he received from the businessman during the 2023 presidential campaign, as well as his consistent advocacy for national unity and patriotism through the Patriotic Elders Network for Peace (PENP), which he founded.
The President condoled with the Kano business community, the people of the state, and the Kano State Government over the loss.
