The Katsina State Government has issued a two-day ultimatum to bandits who have refused to embrace its peace accord a two-day ultimatum to release all kidnapped persons in their custody or face the full weight of the law.

Secretary to the Government of Katsina State (SGS), Mustapha Inuwa made the declaration while briefing newsmen on outcome of an extraordinary meeting held yesterday at the Old Government House complex.

The meeting was held between the state government, the GOC 8 Division Sokoto, General Aminu Bande, repentant and some recalcitrant bandits from Katsina and Zamfara states.

Inuwa said security operations would resume fully and that the ultimatum was an opportunity for the bandits to embrace peace or face the consequences.

He said the state government would no longer grant any excuse to bandits or group of bandits who breach the peace accord, adding that government would meet with herdsmen to advocate peaceful coexistence between them and members of the society.
