Kebbi PDP senatorial candidate asks government to accept proposed state police


The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Abubakar Shehu, has appealed to the Federal Government to accept the proposed of establishment of the state police in country.

Shehu, who gave the advice yesterday while delivering his Sallah message to its people in Birnin Kebbi, said that the establishment of state police would curtail the insecurity in some parts of the country.

He said that the proposed state police would also reduce the high level of unemployment in the country, adding: “Our teaming youths who are graduates for long should be the first priority to be considered in recruitment.”

He further said that Muslims should also sustain the spirit of the month Ramadan to maintain peace and harmony with one another by restoring the spirit of forgiveness with each other.

Besides, he called on the Federal Government to maintain its status quo by implementing the issue of local government autonomy as a remedy that will bring masses closer to the government.
